Greetings!

We officially began work on our documentary about Women’s Boxing.  Our aim is two fold.

First, we hope to complete a short documentary culminating with Jaime Clampitt’s fifth championship fight in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The documentary will feature Kali Reis, the women of Striking Beauties, particularly Dena Paolino and Jaime herself.

The second aim is to continue shooting from now through the first women’s boxing matches in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England!!

We are still searching for a female fighter who intends to compete in those games but we remain hopeful.  While that person will serve as the thread through our film, we will also be collecting the thoughts and experiences of all women, young and adult, in the world of boxing whom we meet or seek out.

Alfred and I are excited to embark upon this journey together and have already been touched by those whom we have met.

Off to Hollywood, Florida for the 2010 Golden Gloves!!!

Sandrine Silverman and Alfred Schoeninger, both of Scenic Roots Productions, are currently collaborating with boxer Holly Brittingham and Dena Paolino-Sarcia, owner of Striking Beauties, the only all female boxing gym in New England, to develop a documentary on life as a female boxer. This blog will diary their stories.
